Join Zero Waste Yukon & Raven ReCentre on December 21st for a Solstice Lantern Parade!

This parade will showcase lanterns made from repurposed materials in the Solstice Lantern Workshop with Nicole Bauberger.

We will meet at the Yukon Canoe and Kayak club sea-can (5 Selkirk St) at 6:30pm and parade from there on the Millennium Trail to the KDCC to end the night with a fire in the KDCC firepit and warm drinks. The event ends at 8:30pm.

This fun workshop for kid-grownup teams will set you up to parade your original creations during your Halloween festivities. Make a simple monster to mount on a stick or backpack, or build your wildest dreams!

Zero Waste and Lumel Studios are taking the Reuse Fair to Watson Lake! Come join us 1-4pm in Wye Lake Park for glass blowing, a clothing swap, and block-printing workshop!

Join Raven ReCentre for a Reuse Fair in Whitehorse!

The event will include info booths from Raven’s Zero Waste program and Computers for Schools Yukon, a workshop with Artist Leslie Leong and a demonstration of glass blowing using recycled glass by Lumel Studios!

Bring your clean, old glass jars and bottles to be transformed into something beautiful. Or bring along some plain clothing from your closet that could use a make-over. Leslie Leong will teach you how to make old clothing new again with block printing.

Zero Waste has partnered with Lumel Studios to host a series of Reuse Fairs in 3 communities in the Yukon! First up is Faro on Saturday, September 23, 1-4pm at the Firehall.

Bring your pre-loved glass bottles and jars for Lumel to turn into new objects! Bring out that plain garment from the back of your closet and pizzazz with artist Leslie Leong’s block printing workshop. Or swap out your wardrobe at Zero Waste’s clothing swap!
