Lyn Fabio is a mixed-media artist who has been sewing and stitching ever since she could thread a needle. Lyn grew up in a 'thrifting family'; repairing and mending has just always been a part of her life!
Come join the movement to celebrate mending, embrace imperfection and resist fast fashion. With needle and thread and very basic stitches, learn how to repair, add flair to and extend the life of clothes you love.
We’ll look at the philosophy behind the movement, get inspiration from traditional Japanese Boro and Indian Kantha, and talk about a variety of techniques using simple materials.
We Provide:
sewing supplies
scrap fabric for practice
You Bring:
something you would like to mend!
scissors, needles, thread, scraps of fabric (Optional, if you do not have these things, no problem!)
*basic sewing skills are an asset but not required!
