Listen In Folks - Big Changes are Coming to Recycling in the Territory
The Raven Recycling Society is making a lot of changes, including rebranding their depot to Raven ReCentre, discontinuing their free paper and packaging drop-off service in 2024, and asking the public not to bring soft plastic to the drop-off anymore.

Here’s a Sneak Peak…
>> A New Sign, New Name, New Website - Why is Raven Recycling Rebranding to Raven Recentre?
“It's an exciting time at Raven because we are very close to having a regulation in the territory that creates more of a circular economy. So instead of a Take-Make-Waste [system], the intention of this new regulation is to push the producers of material to pay for the cost of recycling collection and processing and therefore putting pressure on those corporations and systems to make better products. So, we see opportunity right now to change some of the things we are doing to make that regulation as effective as possible and really focus on the waste management hierarchy that’s in the regulation which puts reuse and repair and repurposing above recycling.
We are refocusing,
we are retooling,
we are reworking
what we do
so that we are
crEating new programs
for difficult to manage material
that won’t initially fall to the regulation.”
